ACSI tuition for IP and IBDP students

Finding the right ACSI tuition means working with a team that understands the pace, depth, and expectations of the ACS(I) IP programme. At Future Academy, we support students with structured lessons, clear notes, and exam-focused practice in small groups (maximum teacher-to-student ratio of 1:6).

Our teaching team is led by Ms Chen (former RGS teacher; 15+ years teaching experience) and Mr Jason Lau (former Hwa Chong Math HOD; 17 years teaching experience at Hwa Chong Institution (HCI)). Together with our subject teachers, we focus on what ACS(I) students need most: strong concepts, efficient methods, and the ability to handle unfamiliar questions confidently.

ACSI students benefit from our small-group format (maximum teacher-to-student ratio of 1:6) that balances personalised attention with collaborative learning. ACSI IP students follow the IB Diploma Programme (IBDP) pathway in Years 5-6, joining MGS IP students in a combined IBDP. We provide foundational support that prepares students for success in this strong IB Diploma Programme (IBDP)—ACSI is known for strong IBDP results.

Understanding the Programme

About ACSI IP Programme

Anglo-Chinese School (Independent) has a well-established 6-year IP programme combining academic rigor with Christian values and holistic education. ACS(I) is distinguished by its strong emphasis on Mathematics and Science subjects, comprehensive co-curricular programme, and strong IB Diploma Programme (IBDP). In Years 5-6, ACS(I) IP students join MGS IP students in a combined IBDP, known for strong results.

The ACSI Academic Culture

ACSI cultivates academic excellence in Mathematics and Science subjects combined with Christian values, character development, leadership, and all-round development through CCAs.

Strong Mathematics and Science Focus

Accelerated Math and Science curriculum with deep conceptual understanding, problem-solving focus, and preparation for IB HL Math and Sciences—building foundations for the rigorous IBDP.

IB Diploma Programme (IBDP) pathway

ACS(I) IP students move into the IB Diploma Programme (IBDP) in Years 5–6. We help students build strong foundations and answering skills early, so the IB transition is smoother.

Why ACSI Students Need Specialised Support

Generic IP tuition fails ACSI students because it does not align with the school’s specific approach and emphasis.

  • Accelerated Mathematics and Science curriculum with advanced content introduced early
  • Strong IB Diploma Programme (IBDP) with strong results
  • Balancing academics with holistic development demands
  • Top school standards that require specialised expertise
Small Group Excellence

How Our 1:6 Small Groups Benefit ACS(I) Students

Collaborative Learning

ACSI values collaborative learning and discussion. Our 1:6 format is small enough for personalised attention yet large enough for collaborative problem-solving.

Personalised attention

With a maximum teacher-to-student ratio of 1:6, individual learning needs are addressed, misconceptions corrected, and explanations adapted to learning styles.

Cost-effective over time

Consistent support from Sec 1–4 into the IB Diploma Programme (IBDP), in small groups with a maximum teacher-to-student ratio of 1:6.

ACS(I) Student Success Stories

IB Diploma Programme (IBDP) Success

Marcus – From Struggling to Confident

Background: Marcus entered ACSI with good PSLE results but found Secondary 2 Math and Physics challenging. The pace felt overwhelming.

The Solution: Marcus joined our small group (maximum teacher-to-student ratio of 1:6). Our teaching team identified and filled foundational gaps, teaching for deep understanding rather than memorisation.

The Results: Within 18 months, Marcus transformed. His grades improved significantly, and he developed genuine confidence. He went on to excel in the IB Diploma Programme (IBDP), achieving strong results that secured his place at his target university.

“The structured approach was exactly what Marcus needed. The team helped Marcus understand deeply and think analytically—crucial for ACSI success.”

— Marcus’s Parent

IB Success

Jonathan – IB Preparation

Background: Jonathan performed well at ACSI and intended to pursue the IB Diploma Programme (IBDP) pathway. He needed strong foundations across subjects.

The Solution: Working with our teaching team, Jonathan developed deep understanding efficiently in Math and Sciences, freeing time for comprehensive IB preparation.

The Results: Jonathan built strong foundations during IP years that supported IB Diploma Programme (IBDP) success. He achieved high IB scores and gained admission to his target university.

“Our teachers helped Jonathan build the strong foundations needed for IB success. The efficient, deep learning was crucial for IB’s comprehensive demands.”

— Jonathan’s Parent

FAQ

FAQs for ACSI Parents

We build strong foundations during the IP years—deep understanding, critical thinking, independent learning skills—that prepare students for the rigorous IB Diploma Programme (IBDP) in Years 5-6. Our approach develops genuine capability that supports the breadth and depth required for IBDP success, including both Higher Level subjects and the core components (TOK, EE, CAS).

ACSI has a well-established IB Diploma Programme (IBDP). In Years 5-6, ACSI IP students join MGS IP students in a combined IBDP cohort, and the academic pace increases. Our focus is to build strong foundations during Sec 1–4 so students are ready for the demands of Years 5–6.

Our educators have experience teaching students in IP school settings. While we did not teach at ACS(I) specifically, we teach the same skills ACS(I) assessments reward: strong concepts, clear reasoning, and the ability to apply ideas under time pressure.

We group ACS(I) students together when possible. When curriculum overlaps, mixed IP groups can also work well and create useful discussion during lessons.
